Who runs this site

Indian Coffee Stories is an independent coffee publication run by Shashank Sharma. For privacy questions, corrections, complaints or data requests, email cynyassy@gmail.com.

Reading the website

You do not need an account to read our guides or browse the Coffee Atlas. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the site. These operational records are separate from optional analytics.

Optional analytics and videos

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics receives page visits, browser/device information and interactions such as Atlas filters. We do not deliberately send email addresses or the text of your messages to analytics. You can reject analytics or change your choice using Privacy settings in the footer. See our cookie and storage policy.

YouTube players load only when you choose to load a video. YouTube then receives technical information about your visit. External shops, cafes and other linked sites have their own privacy practices.

Messages and newsletter

If you email us, your message and email address are used to respond to your request. Please do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information. Newsletter signups take place on Substack, not in a form on this website. Substack handles subscription information; use the unsubscribe link in its newsletter emails to stop receiving them.

Brew Tracker and community content

Brew Tracker is a separate app with accounts and public community posts. Public community ratings may also appear on this website. For Brew Tracker account-data questions or deletion requests, email cynyassy@gmail.com and tell us which account is yours.

Access, corrections and deletion

Email the address above to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have shared with us, or to raise a privacy complaint. Tell us which service your request concerns. We may need to verify ownership before releasing or deleting information; do not send identity documents unless we agree a necessary verification step. Requests are handled manually, not by an automatic account-deletion tool.

Retention and providers

Messages are kept for handling correspondence and follow-up. Hosting records and analytics follow the providers’ configured retention settings; this notice does not promise immediate removal from their backups or reports. Providers may process data outside your country. Contact us for information about your specific data and any retention that applies. We use Vercel for website hosting, Google for opted-in analytics, YouTube for requested videos and Substack for newsletter subscriptions.

Children and changes

The publication is not directed at children and does not ask readers for birth dates or create reader accounts. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate. Material changes to this notice will be published here.
